I registered to say that this show was unbelievable.

Both of the openers were great, and played reasonable sets that gave you a pretty good impression of what they were about. Titus in particular played with a ton of energy and were a blast to watch.

And I'm sure I don't need to say it here, but OR was just astounding. I was expecting great things but the volume and energy of their show was an unexpected delight. The setlist had lots for everyone, and the whole set was played with a blistering intensity that was infectious to the entire room.

And the crowd was great too! I wasn't expecting a huge turnout in Toronto, but the room was PACKED. My only complaint is that during A Stone and So Come Back, I Am Waiting you could hear the latter half of the room chit-chatting to the point where it distracted from the music (I'm certain Will himself noticed, as he seemed slightly flustered during A Stone).

Great show, I'm even more convinced of how excellent and special Okkervil River are.
Thanks for a great night,
AJ

That's about the same set as Omaha. Not sure if they added in another song to replace it, but they didn't play "Black." The show was good overall, and Will has really become a much more polished performer than early on. I was, of course, disappointed they didn't play more of the older material, although by now that material for me is three albums ago. :)

When did Travis leave the band?

Uugh! And why is this board so damn slooooooooooow? and dead?

EDIT: Ah yes, they did play "Red" in Omaha, so that may have been the alternate for "Black".

I was at the Omaha show. Is the scene there always like it was that night? I was really disappointed that people talked through Will's acoustic performance (A Stone) and the crowd just didn't seem that into it. Otherwise, the set was great but I think a more interactive and appreciative audience would have made a difference (though Will seems to play mostly for himself) in the way the band came off.
