Oh but it is. I don't know what your interpretation of the song is, but to me it seems to be about a guy trying to reach out to his girlfriend, whose dad is dying. It doesn't seem to work; he isn't really able to get through to her, but regardless he tries again and again. And failing still, again.

i'm a fan of that guy's interpretation of "Seas Too Far To Reach" ... I've watched it a few times and i think he's got the spirit, if not the exact vocal stylings. it's spirit that counts.

Why this one? It's not sad.

It isn't necessarily that it's sad -- it just stirs up a lot of emotion to me. The whole album does, for that matter, but this seems like the culmination of it. I guess "refreshing" or "cathartic" would be a better way to say it--the images of "giving back all of our tears so we can cry them again".

It starts off all funny-like, then just kind of spirals downward. The last chorus (which was the really funny part at the beginning) is the most gut-wrenching line ever.
