Hey guys, America changed last night.

Hey guys, America changed last night.

I can't believe there hasn't been a thread dedicated to this yet.

Last night I saw Barack Hussein Obama become the 44th president of the United States.....

And I've never been prouder of America - who, as a whole, decided not to elect a president based on fear, but to elect a president based on hope.

I'm not going to lie, I cried a bit last night. How could you not?

I can't get my head around it yet.
But honestly, its questionable if he will survive his presidency because of the racism that still exists in the US.

I doubt he'll be killed. There might be attempts...

While there is still racism in america I don't think it is anywhere near the levels it is portrayed as in the media. I, for one, am hoping that his election will help on that front.

I wish for good things in the next 4 years in this country and would be more than proud to have him leading the way.

Yeah I would have to agree with you.
Over here in Australia Obama's win has been pretty big news and also in the media now there has been talks about the threat of assassination attempts in the future.
I like to believe (and hope!) that Obama will survive the whole term and bring forth change although the risk of assassination attempts will always exist.
They dreamed of nothing and got nothing in return
