Will playing solo tonight in NY

Surprised no one's posted about this... Will tweeted a few days ago that he's playing a solo set tonight at the Living Room in NY after Bird of Youth's set. All new songs. Very, very curious to see what the new songs sound like.

Here's hoping to someone recording them and putting them up on YouTube.

Someone was recording video. I'm sure it will turn up.

7 songs - six new ones, and Plus Ones, which Will said he played because we had to wait a while for him (he broke a string tuning and it took a long while to get a replacement). He told a story about standing in the rain to see Tom Petty at ACL, and wanting to see American Girl... and Petty playing a 15 minute version of Too Much Monkey Business.

One of the new ones was that song Will was playing on tour last year. It's the only one he named, although I'm struggling to recall it - the Way of the Warrior, or something like that.

One song had Will on piano, and another had him singing with Beth from Bird of Youth (he joined them onstage for a song too). Will said that song was his favorite he'd written for this record, which means no one else will like it.

Will said he had a ton of songs for the new record, and he was having trouble paring them down. I will say that the ones he played tonight were all quite good, with a couple that would probably vault somewhere into my top OR songs.

I would have brought this up if I could have posted by my old account is gone for some reason... Perhaps my sentiments towards a certain country could have been considered biased and hateful, but that hasn't changed. I believe the name of the song was, "Lay of the Last Survivor." I put up the lyrics to it awhile back with it titled, 'Silver Stone," based off the Tel Aviv show.

I am eagerly awaiting and expecting a bootleg of this. A video was posted of lay of the last survivor and plus ones on utube, but none of the brand new songs. The quality was great.
