Wonky booklet for Very Far

Wonky booklet for Very Far

Hey, did anyone else get a mismatched cd booklet with the new album?

Mine came with the words for 'Weave Room Blues' (after lay of the last survivor) and excluded the words for 'Show Yourself'

Curious to know how wide spread the alternate printing went.

Words? My booklet didn't come with any words. Was this a limited edition booklet or something?

All my other OR albums have the lyrics listed and Will's lyrics are so amazingly intricate and beautiful I regularly refer to the booklets when getting to know a new OR album. A little disappointed there are no lyrics the new one. Having to rely on Google to get the lyrics.

Love Mermaid on the new album. The nautical imagery in it reminds me a little of Lost Coastlines.
...and all the clocks in all the world may this once just skip a beat in memory of you, but then again those damn clocks, they probably won't...

The song on the album is called "Hanging From a Hit" ..."Mermaid" is not on this album, it's a single you can buy on itunes, it came out in February.

Exact same thing for me. Just picked up the CD version today.... No "Mermaid" on mine though.. Different versions and a booklet mixup at the manufacturer?

My booklet (in europe) was the same as Project Infinity's. I wonder what caused that. On the other hand, there has to be a reason to buy the lyrics book. ;)

Yeah, I got the pdf booklet with the digital download and it has Weave Room Blues but no Show Yourself. Which is kind of stupid given how much attention was paid to the various packages you could choose to pre-order including the booklet, I wonder if the hard back version has the same issue? There are a load of words wrong too, which is common with the lyrics sheets for albums but still, you think the label could get this type of stuff right.
Either way, loving the album, can't wait to see them live in June.

The booklet that came with my vinyl also has the lyrics for 'weave room blues' and excludes 'show yourself'. I was wondering about this too. Didn't know if it was a mistake or not. I wish 'weave room blues' was on the album... along with 'mermaid'. Really my only complaint about the new album.

Just to be clear...

"Mermaid" is a song about a mermaid, but it didn't make the album, I think there's a misprint in the UK version of the album title. The song is actually "Hanging From a Hit." "Mermaid" is on Itunes.

Looks like the booklet includes "Weave Room Blues" because it was printed before the album was set in stone. Black Sheep Boy has that same problem, "A Glow" lyrics aren't included.

For those not on Twitter, Will said today "The form of the lyric booklet was intentional."

The hardbound book has lyrics to about 8 or so additional songs, most of which I am completely unfamiliar with.

Possibly the most under-rated and under-mentioned quality of Okkervil River is Patrick's backing vocals in Weave Room Blues. Fantastic.
