Couple more comments, although with the state of this board I have no idea who'll see them.

Thought the band was in really fine form. The new songs sounded excellent.

Enjoyed Will's second "spooky voice" mic... definitely helped the vibe, especially on the new tunes.

Was quite the treat to hear John Allyn Smith and So Come Back. During the latter, Will asked all the lights on stage to be dimmed, and the whole venue was in the dark, which was very cool.

I've heard A Stone plenty of times live, but this one felt really special... Will really seemed to have the whole, rather large, venue in the palm of his hand. Nice moment.

My girlfriend and I were standing on the balcony right behind the sound board and were able to read the proposed set list laying out on the board. After the first 15 songs Okkervil was supposed to leave and come back for an encore of "No Key No Plan", "Westfall", and then "Unless it Kicks." After that there was another break and then two more songs, "Red" and "Blue Tulip. It looks like when they found out they were running out of time they went right to unless it kicks. Still an amazing show though despite missing those 4 songs. Damn Terminal 5.

This set is almost exactly like what they played in Boston last night. Great line-up! I have not been to an Okkervil River show in a couple of years, and they surprised me with their set.

Wouldn't "Red" and "Blue Tulip" have been lovely? A pity they didn't have time to play more. Although I always look back on the benefit show they played in Concord in 2007 (Sneakers & Speakers) and feel spoiled. Wish they could have the time they had there to play at every venue!

Oh no, it makes me so sad to know just exactly what we missed out on! It's the unions, they start charging big bucks to work after 11pm, so it's not just T5. Don't get me wrong, anyone who wants to bitch about T5 is welcome to and I am with you, and anyone who wants to bitch about the unions creating this 11 o'clock curfew too. Next time maybe Will can channel Andy Kaufman and take us all out for milk and cookies or something.

I really loved hearing the new stuff live. It ROCKS. The effects mic was pretty neat, as was the Schaff backdrop that changed up with the lighting. The little snap/clap choreography with Will and Lauren (forget the song) cracked me up. Every time I see them they bring out a little something new.
