Oakland Show 6.22

Just wanted to say I was blown away by the show last night. It was the fifth time I've seen the band, but the first time in a few years and the first with this lineup. Wow. Kick musical ass much? It seemed like every song I was whispering something to my group like "Man the drummer is killing it," or "Oh, so she kicks as much ass on the lap steel as the six string," or something to that effect. Also great pacing and setlist, and the sound was amazing - I've had VERY mixed experiences at the Fox with sound quality but it was perfect last night. For the the coup de grace was when Will and the bass player did the acoustic version of "No Key No Plan." I love that song in it's rockin' incarnation and I was fully prepared to be bored as shit by the lower key rendition. But Jesus, it killed me. The bass player's backing vocals were stunning.

Great work, folks. Hope it's not another 4 or 5 years before I get the chance to see you again.

Here is video I took of "No Key, No Plan" in Seattle (really cute banter along with the stunning version of this song):

I got a new camera and I am fiddling around with conversion/file sizes. This video is larger (image and file size) than other videos on DTO, but I think it actually loads faster than anything else on there. I could make this one smaller and load faster, though not by too much. So I'm wondering - if anyone out there wants to weigh in - would you rather have a big picture and a slightly slower load time or smaller, faster one?

I'm not an expert, but I've been told that bigger and slower is best.

I'm also an excellent breakfast cook.

Great video. Thanks for posting.

Great. Now DT"O" is going to mean something entirely different to me. Thanks, Ted. :)
